One of the most unique things about the city of Dallas is the large amount of local breweries nearby. Since the law in Texas states that breweries cannot sell their products on site, they provide tours, which always include samples for those of age. Typically, they charge the equivalent of one pint of beer for admission and you get a collector’s pint glass to take home, as well. Here are some of the best choices for brewery tours in the area.
Deep Ellum Brewing Company
As one of the more popular breweries in Dallas, Deep Ellum provides tours for just $10. This includes four samples of their excellent beer and a pint glass you can take home with you. This tour tends to attract a younger crowd and many have described it as a party at the brewery. The tours are held every Thursday from 6pm to 8:30pm and on Saturdays from noon to 3pm.
Rahr & Sons Brewing Company
Probably the most well-known and best distributed beer in the area comes from Rahr & Sons. They brew out of a 20,000 square foot facility and produce over 5,000 barrels of their delicious beers every year. Tours are held every Wednesday from 5 to 7:30pm and every Saturday from 1 to 3Pm. Each tour is $10 and includes three to six samples, along with a pint glass.
Peticola’s Brewing Company
Most well-known for the Velvet Hammer, Petocola’s is a brewery run by a former lawyer with a massive passion for beer. They just started regular tours in February and they don’t hold tours as often as some of the larger breweries. For $10, you can take a tour of the brewery on the first or third Saturday of the month from 1pm to 3pm. The tour includes three samples.
Four Corners Brewing Company
Another local brewing company with plenty to offer, Four Corners is most well-known for the robust porter and the “all day” ales they create. Ninety-minute tours are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month starting at 4pm, 6pm and 8pm. They also hold monthly block parties to showcase their beers. The block parties are $10 to $15 and the tours are $10. Each tour includes three samples and a pint glass.

The Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie will present Archer Live on June 22nd at 7pm. This may seem a bit odd considering Archer is an animated TV show. Many thought this was just an April Fool’s joke when it was announced, but it’s really going to happen. Live action characters will bring this show to life with an all-star cast and excellent producers. From cheesy staging to the typical voice-overs, this show will capture all of what Archer is on TV, but it will live, on stage.
Not only will the show feature performances, but also a panel discussion, scene reading, clips never seen before and a question and answer session with those in attendance. The entire cast from the TV show will be on hand to answer questions, talk about the show and provide fans with an amazing experience.
If you’re not familiar with the show, it airs on FX, but can also be found on Netflix. A new season was recently released and it’s scheduled for a fifth season. Those interested in the super-spy world will love the TV show and the live show provides something you cannot get on TV. If you’re already a fan, this is a “can’t miss” event and may never happen again in Dallas.
A Little About the Show
The show is considered a super-spy series and uses sexuality, intrigue, gun play and many stunts to create amusement and fun for the audience. Archer works for his mother, which presents an interesting dynamic, as she’s the head of an International Intelligence Service. They spy for cash and the cast also features Archer’s ex-girlfriend and many villains.
Aisha Tyler, Lucky Yates, Jon Benjamin, Amber Nash and Casey Willis will be at the live show, along with the producers of the TV series. Tickets are $45 and the doors open at 7pm.
